Plaid + Plaid = A Really Handsome Look

November 4, 2011 § 2 Comments

How much plaid is too much plaid?  That depends on how you wear it.  Mixing different colors and patterns adds more variation and visual interest to any look when it’s worn right.  Pull out a similar color from both plaids and repeat that color somewhere else in the look for cohesion–e.g., blue-grey stripe in scarf + blue-grey stripe in shirt = blue-grey blazer.  See, it’s basic math.

The Look: blazer, Austin Reed; button down, Salt Valley Mfg. Co.; tank top, American Apparel; jeans, AG Adriano Goldschmied (fit: Protege Straight Leg); scarf, Billy Reid; belt, 14th Street Antiques; shoes, BeanBoots by L.L. Bean

See below for information regarding other accessories.

Watch, vintage Bulova; sharkskin watch band, Antiques & Beyond.
